Dr. Byers grew up on a small family farm in western Pennsylvania where she cultivated her love of animals alongside her father’s cattle veterinary practice and neighboring dairies. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in 2014 where she majored in biology and minored in Spanish. During her time there, she participated in mastitis research, played for the varsity women’s soccer team, and spent her summers at various veterinary clinics.
While attending OSU, Dr. Byers did externships at a variety of mixed animal and dairy practices throughout OH, PA, NY, and CO and is excited to work in all aspects of mixed animal practice. She especially enjoys large animal ambulatory work and was awarded “Excellence in Large Animal Ambulatory” for the class of 2018. Her special interests include dairy herd health management, milk quality, and small animal surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Byers enjoys playing soccer, swimming, and enjoying the outdoors while hiking and kayaking with her dog, Charlie. She is very excited to be coming to EVC and is looking forward to getting to know the clients and patients!
